Grid Release Notes

This release note provides an overview of recent updates and improvements to the Grid platform.

Launch of a new widget: Card  

We have introduced a new widget to the Dashboard widget library, the Card widget. The Card widget combines KPI visualization, record navigation, and rich formatting options in a single data display widget. It can be used to present aggregated metrics and detailed record-level data in a compact, visually appealing format.

Key features

• Users can choose between two card types, Detailed cards for record-level information and Hybrid cards, which combine detailed data with KPI metrics.

• You can customize KPI elements, including header labels, alignment, font family, trend indicators, and more.

• You can apply widget and dashboard-level filters for dynamic data views.

• You can modify card layout, format labels, and control how cards are displayed.

Reports: SQL query editor enhancements  

We have rebuilt SQL query editor in the Reports section into a more powerful, editor-first workspace designed for faster querying, easier debugging, and efficient report creation experience.

Key features

• Introduced a pre-filled SQL template as an initial placeholder in the editor, which is automatically cleared when the user starts typing.

• Users can browse available worksheets, search for specific worksheets, and view column names with their data types.

• Users can either select and execute specific SQL statements or execute the entire SQL query to preview the results.

• Users can customize the editor with multiple themes and indentation sizes.

• Users can filter query results directly in the results panel without re-running the query. Results can also be saved as a report or downloaded as a CSV file.

• Introduced a keyboard shortcuts panel that displays available shortcuts for report and editor actions across different operating systems. Examples include autocomplete across sources, reports, SQL keywords, and columns (Ctrl + Space), SQL formatting (Ctrl + Shift + F), and to run complete query (Command/Ctrl + Shift + Enter).

Formula configuration

We have introduced a new Formula processing option under Configurations in Worksheets. By default, formula calculations (For row and table formula columns) are processed in the background, allowing users to continue entering data without interruption. Users can now disable this option to process formula calculations immediately while entering data.
