What's new in Grid v20.32

From a revamped user experience and more powerful configurations to major backend improvements, this version of release delivers enhancements across the platform.

Smoother user experience and interface

We have optimized our platform for better navigation and workflow consistency. Users now have an option to display split entry and view pages side-by-side for enhanced productivity. We have also added following new features:

  • Users can now search reports and dashboards by source (reports or worksheets).
  • Improved report search relevance and result prioritization.
  • LTW (Link to Worksheet) user listing columns within notifications.
  • Global filter to support faster data discovery.
Performance improvements across the platform

We have changed or improved the following:

1. System performance
  • We have improved offline mode for better reliability, performance, and overall user experience.
  • Data APIs are now 50% faster on average, with some operations achieving up to 5x performance improvements.
  • Upload and download operations are more than 5x faster.
  • Configuration APIs are now 40–50% faster in comparison to previous versions.
2. Scalable architecture
  • We have standardized backend services with clearly defined responsibilities.
  • Introduction of shared libraries to improve reusability and maintainability.
Improved security and access control

We have changed or improved the following:

1. API security
  • API keys can now be assigned to specific users.
  • All API actions inherit the assigned user's permissions, strengthening governance, security, and access control.
2. Access permission management
  • You can now manage basic user access through Actions.
  • Separate permissions for child-table columns.
  • Addition of new feature to lock the editing/scheduling of reports, dashboards, and worksheets.
3. Increased accurate activity monitoring
  • Improved user activity tracking with last access time updates captured within a 30-minute window.
Advanced data and worksheet management

We have changed or improved the following:

1. Column configuration

Users can now do the following:

  • View detailed column change logs and change column types dynamically.
  • Multi-select and delete columns. Users can also rearrange, move, and shuffle columns and sections.
  • Perform column-based data sorting for LTW (Link to Worksheet).
  • Overlay selected columns directly onto images and mark columns as primary dependencies.
  • Set duration for refreshing formula columns.
  • Set dynamic restrictions on date and date-time fields.
  • Support unique field validation with OR logic.
  • Execute tag rules during data entry and edit validation.
2. Efficient data management

Users can now do the following:

  • Restore previously deleted records.
  • Disable formula reloads for historical data.
  • Use bulk edit capabilities in child views.
  • Open date and time are now captured from forms during entry edits.
Platform reporting and analytics

We have changed or improved the following:

1. Improved reporting experience
  • Added LTW user listing columns in notifications.
  • Enhanced support for parameterized reports.
  • Improved Excel and CSV export quality.
  • Better report search and filtering capabilities.
2. Platform reliability enhancements
  • Improved dashboard consistency and navigation experience.
  • Multiple platform-wide improvements delivering a more stable and reliable user experience.
